Scoty Brown Wins Frozen Rail Jam For The Third Year Straight
The skies were blue today at Blue Mountain’s Frozen Rail jam but after four hours of qualifiers in the Women’s, Am Men and Open Men categories most of the white stuff had turned icy by the time the finals kicked off at 2p.m. Even though the set-up was mellow, consisting of a down bar to fat-tube line on the riders right or flat down box to flat box line of the left, the conditions made falling a bummer.
None of that stopped riders from going for it though. Almost every tech combo possible was attempted in the half hour jam format each of the three categories was allotted.
Guest MC Harrison Gray put his fun loving personality to good use and kept the commentary flowing all day. Harrison took second in the comp last year but he recently blew his MCL while attempting a double cork in the pipe at Copper Mountain.
Everyone got greasy but it was Scoty Brown who hiked hard and destroyed both lines with his loose ass style earned him the hat-trick and $500. For the women Victoria Marshall emerged victorious and received $200. Mark Goodall was good enough to put together some that got him first in the Amateur Mens division and a sweet prize pack.
Stay tuned for pics from the after party and a video dropping soon.
